WHAT IS SUPER TIC-TAC-TOE?

Super Tic-Tac-Toe is a free pixel-art strategy battler built on top of the three-by-three grid everyone already knows. Winning a round doesn't win the match — it deals damage. Your fighter and your opponent's each start with a health pool, and the match runs until one of them is knocked out, which means a single lost round is a setback rather than a defeat.

Between rounds you spend the gold you earned in a shop: items that buff individual tiles, armour that blunts incoming damage, and upgrades you can forge into stronger versions. The board stays simple. Everything you build around it is where the strategy lives.

WAYS TO PLAY

  • Player vs CPU — a solo run against the computer, which plays by exactly the same rules you do. Available as SOLO MODE or TEAM MODE, where the CPU runs both of its fighters.
  • 2 player battle — pass and play on one device, no second account needed. Choose SOLO MODE, or TEAM MODE, where each player controls two fighters and a side only falls once both of its fighters are down.
  • Campaign — a ladder of ten opponents, one after another. Gold, items and armour carry from one fight to the next, so the run compounds. Losing a rung costs you your satchel but never your place — you pick a fighter again and retry the same opponent. Playable as SOLO MODE or TEAM MODE, where every rung fields two fighters against your two.
  • Online match — play someone else over the internet, either peer-to-peer by swapping a code or by queueing on a server that finds you an opponent. Both offer SOLO MODE and TEAM MODE; in TEAM MODE each player fields a pair and runs both of their fighters, the same way one player runs two on a shared device. The host picks the format and the queue only matches you with people who chose the same one.

It runs in the browser on desktop and mobile with nothing to download, and it installs as an app if you'd rather keep it on your home screen. There are no accounts and no sign-up.

FIGHTERS AND ABILITIES

Before a match you pick a fighter. Each one has its own ability that changes how you want to use the board — some pressure the grid directly, others pay off over a longer match through economy or defence. Learning what an opponent's fighter threatens is as much a part of the match as the tiles themselves.

The full rulebook covers every mechanic in detail: round structure and damage, the shop and forging, tile buffs, armour, the stalemate board scroll, and the complete roster.
